How it Works!
Clients can send and / or receive SMS messages through our Advanced Services accounts. In order to utilise the service, clients should select their preferred interface option for connecting their application to our gateway, or alternatively select from one of our simpler SMS solutions (WebSMS or EmailSMS) which are suitable for clients who do not have any technical experience or an SMS software application in place.
The following interfaces are supported for clients to connect their application:
- SMTP - Simple Mail Transfer Protocol
An everyday email application can be used to send and receive SMS. - SMPP - Short Message Peer to Peer
An application supporting SMPP can send and receive SMS directly to and from HSL's systems. Supports SMPP v3.3 and v3.4. - HTTP - HyperText Transfer Protocol
An application supporting HTTP can send and receive SMS via GET/POST requests.
Choose between two separate HTTP interface options (simple or sophisticated). - Web Service - SOAP/XML
An application supporting Web Services can send SMS directly to HSL's systems. Supports C#.
Additionally, HSL have developed a number of solutions which may also be used to send and receive SMS messages:
- Email SMS Solution
EmailSMS solution based on either SMTP interface for one-way messaging or the the SMTP GMI interface for two-way messaging. - WebSMS Solution
WebSMS solution can be used to both send and receive SMS through a regular web browser. - AlertBroadcast Solution
Two-way alert system between controller and team members. - DirectSMSC Solution
Dedicated SMSC managed by HSL leased to clients.
Advanced Services clients will be provided with access to a dedicated Client Support Site (CSS) where they can locate service and invoice information relevant to their chosen service, as well as generate message statistics.
If you would like technical information regarding the integration of your own applications for use with HSL's accounts, please visit our Technical section.
